Beauty pageant participants have beauty, poise, and grace. Not only
that, but they have to be able to answer questions about current issues
in our society and also be talented, often in dance or music. And while
they often make all of this effortless, lots of effort and many hours of
practice go into making a beauty pageant winner. Of course, all of this
training comes at a price, which is why you’re going to need a
sponsor to help you out. Luckily for you, since beauty pageants are
often highly publicized, there are often many companies willing to
sponsor you. Here are three tips on how to get sponsors for beauty
pageants.
Talk to family and friends
If you’re competing in a local
beauty pageant, or a well-known beauty pageant, you should talk to
family and friends and see if they can sponsor you. Sponsorship isn’t
just about money. It comes in many forms. Maybe someone you know has a
clothing store or is a dressmaker; they could sponsor the costumes you
need for the event. Someone else might be able to do your hair and
makeup. Others might be willing to sponsor you in the form of dance or
voice
lessons. The more you talk to your family and friends, the more
likely you are to get sponsorship from them.
Talk to professionals
Your dentist, hair dresser, or instructors maybe willing to sponsor
you. For example, if you want to get your teeth whitened, talk to your
dentist and see if you can work out a sponsorship deal. He could whiten
your teeth at a discount and use your photos on his promotional
material. You could try the same with your hair dresser or
instructors. When dealing with
professionals, you will have to be professional, so don’t forget
about sponsorship proposals and letters.
Talk to parents with younger children
The fact that you have poise and grace is something that isn’t as common
now as it was before. Parents are often willing to pay for lessons for
their children. You could help with manners, posture, and their
speech. Put together a proposal and hand out information at elementary
schools and community centers and offer lessons similar to what you
would find at a
finishing school.
