What better way to spend a day then on a
sail boat with the wind, sun, and a couple of your best friends.
While it may look very easy, any experienced sailor will tell you that
it takes a lot of hard work to become a professional sailor.
Serious sailors often move some place somewhere warm some that they
can practice year round. If you want the chance to practice year round,
you should look into getting sponsors so that you can do that. There
are many ways to get sponsors, and below you can find three tips to help
you get started.
During the summer months, you’ll find that many people want to hire
someone to take them out on the open waters in a boat. Since you have a
boat, you have a great opportunity to earn a bit of money as well as
meet potential sponsors. Advertising should be pretty easy, since if
you live near the water there are bound to be a couple of tourist
offices where you can leave a couple of flyers. You should also get
business cards made so that you can give them out to people who go on
your boat.
Give sailing lessons to children during the summer vacations. If you do
decide to do this, you’ll have to do a bit of research as far as safety
goes. But once you get that taken care of, you should be able to run a
type of sailing camp for children. You can divide them up by age or
level. You’ll find that children can learn very quickly.
Contact a couple of
boating companies and see if they would be willing to sponsor you.
Since boating supplies are often so expensive, it’s well worth the
effort to contact a
couple of companies and see if they would be willing to help you
out. While you might not get a free boat, you could get a couple of
sails, or even lessons to help you learn a bit more and become an expert
sailor.
